Influenced by the modest earthiness of tea ceremony bowls, our Shino glazes give a traditional iron-rich appearance to any high-fire clay object. Beautiful on textured or smooth clay bases, mixable to achieve the right degree of matte or glossy surface.

Shino glazes can also be combined with our PC glazes for different effects.

Heavy iron reduction look in oxidation | Suitable for red or white clay | Mixable to get glossy or matte variations | Safe for food | Cone 5

There are 6 color varieties from which both glossy and matte glazes have been developed.

You can mix them together and give a nice effect on all clays!

Also coyote has a special shino line similar to the amaco shino glazes, however again very different colors. Sometimes more subtle and more hue variations. Most shino’s at coyote are glossy.
