A Texas Two-Step undercoat designed for use with the second coat for the oil-stained effect. By itself, it is a mottled, glossy black undercoat.

The Texas Two-Step Oilspots are a specialized series that use pairs of glazes to create unique effects. Wherever one of the overcoats is placed on top of Licorice, Coffe Bean or Brick Red, a beautiful mottled pattern will appear during firing. Thicker applications will result in larger spots. Try using wax after the first coat to create negative space designs.

These midrange brush glazes can be fired between 1180/ 1220 degrees. If you want to fire higher, it is wise to test this first.
