Cone 6: Lilac Speck is a satin-matte, semi-opaque light purple glaze that breaks on texture. Contains small purple, orange and yellow speckles. Stable glaze.
Cone 10: Lilac Speck becomes lighter to off-white. Speckles fade and lose definition as the glaze thickens; crystallization may occur. Remains stable.
TIP: We recommend firing our matte glazes to cone 6 for a satin-matte finish. When opened, speckles will have collected at the bottom of the bottle. Stir or shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to mix the speckles well.

Classic stoneware glazes offer depth, refinement and reliability to artists working with medium to high firing temperatures. Many glazes break over textures, revealing secondary colors and hues. Used alone, stoneware glazes produce beautiful color variations. One layer shows the clay body through the glaze and two to three layers deepen the color. The choice of clay body, thickness of the applied glaze, firing process and temperature affect the fired finish.
The chips shown are flat-fired on a white clay body fired to cone 6 oxidation and cone 10 reduction. The choice of clay body, thickness of glaze, firing process and temperature affect the fired result.
