Penguin Pottery’s Glow-in-the-Dark glazes give your creations a striking glow in the dark. Ideal for decorative items, children’s projects, or unique gifts.

General:

Usage:

  • Can be applied to unglazed clay, bisque, or already glazed pieces.
  • For best results, fire at cone 06 (rapid firing, no holds).
  • Stir the glaze thoroughly beforehand; particles may settle to the bottom.
  • After firing, the glaze has a matte finish; for a glossy result, apply a transparent underglaze and fire them together.

After baking:

  • Charge the glaze by exposing it to sunlight, UV light, or bright artificial light.
  • The longer the exposure, the more intense and longer-lasting the luminous effect.

Important to know:

  • Not tested for food safety; do not use on surfaces that come into contact with food.
  • Suitable only for ceramic ovens
  • Overheating can reduce or eliminate the luminous effect.

Tip: Combine Glow in the Dark with underglaze decorations for unique effects in the dark.

Description

Penguin Pottery glazes offer a vast range of effects to choose from: vibrant, bright, smooth, glossy, textured, satiny, matte; opaque, semi-translucent, translucent, transparent, fluid, non-fluid. The low-fire glazes are perfect for school projects, classrooms, studios, and potters who do not fire at high temperatures. These low-fire glazes are the choice of potters looking for a broad color palette, such as celadon, vibrant red, deep green, and bright blue. The mid-fire glazes offer similar possibilities but also introduce interesting effects and tones not available in low-fire glazes. The glazes are lead-free, non-toxic, and food-safe (provided they are fired and tested properly). Please note: The Glow in the Dark glazes are not food-safe!!!
Shake the bottle well before use and do not allow it to freeze.
