All MKM Stamps, Rollers and HandRollers are cut in our own factory (they are not outsourced to other companies) by MKM employees who are very dedicated to quality. Quality in original raw wood material, quality of design and quality of carving, quality of wood finishing and, of course, quality service for all our customers.

But what exactly does quality mean in the context of a simple wooden tool. At the design level, it’s a bit of a personal choice. A design you like is good. But at the cutting stage, the meaning is very specific: the edges of the debossed (incised) stamps all have beveled edges that compress the clay around the stamp and prevent cracking at the corners. None of the lines and patterns cut into the stamps and rolls are laser cut (which always leaves a burnt vertical wall, which then pulls up the edge of the design). So when the MKM stamp is pulled off the clay or the roller is rolled over the clay, the MKM tool releases perfectly without pulling up edges. Also, our stamps and rollers are made to scale to work well in the field of functional pottery – these tools are specifically designed and made for ceramists and potters.
