Cobblestone is an effect glaze and creates a cracked structure.
It is a non-toxic glaze.
It is not recommended for use ceramics because of the surface texture.
You can put the glaze over non-toxic glazes such as, for example, Mayco’s stroke and coat or foundations.
The way of application and the amount of glaze determines the structure. Use, for example, Mayco’s fan or mop brush for this purpose.
With a thin coat, the texture will be less obvious than with 2 or 3 coats.
Please note that a new coat must be applied before the previous coat cracks!!!
You can put other glazes over the cobblestone glaze and bake at different temperatures
(v.a. 1000 ˚C)
NOTE:
Keep in mind that the glaze will crack before it goes into the oven.
That means with upright works it may fall off. So don’t wait too long to finish baking your piece!!!
To prevent this, you can put a layer of wax on your work after applying cobblestone, this will make it stick to your work!
