Alabaster is a semi-opaque white soft matte glaze that breaks over texture.
Cone 10: The color darkens to variegated light gray/purple.
TIP: When using this glaze, you will be able to pick up the features of the clay body due to the white semi-opaque finish. Combines very well with 2 coats of stroke and coat on top. It has a satin finish. If you like combinations with sea salt, you will get similar results with Alabaster minus the crystals. Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to shades that create interesting color variations as they move and break. A thin layer is the key to making matte glazes work for you.
