Reach deeper and pull your pottery walls higher with our Wood Rib 50 mm Extra Long. This extended version of our small 50 mm wood rib is still great for opening your ceramics on the potter’s wheel. But the extra long edge gives you more control to shape and refine your pot. The tapered side of this extra long version has no corner, so you can use it to compress or flatten the base of a long piece. The size still sits comfortably between your thumb and fingers, while the new diamond grid design makes it easy to hold from any angle.
This beautifully oiled and hand-carved wooden rib is a versatile tool for potters working on the potter’s wheel. With a size of about 50 mm wide, 170 mm long and 13 mm deep, it offers excellent grip and control even on larger workpieces.
The tool is equipped with a laser engraved DiamondCore Tools logo on the front and a fine diamond grid design on the back, which provides extra grip in wet clay. In addition, the rib is finished with a thin layer of wax, which protects the wood from moisture, swelling and wear.
The smooth surfaces make it easy to clay open, shape and stabilize, while excess clay can be removed effortlessly. Thanks to its length, you can extend further inward and form larger pots, making this tool ideal for ambitious ceramic projects.
The tapered edge acts as a convenient scraping edge for refining surfaces and details. Note: Due to the natural variation in wood grain, each rib is unique in appearance and character.
