60 (coarse) for rough heavy clay or glaze
120 grit (medium) for general purpose 200 grit (fine) for smoothing
400 grit (extra fine) for smoothing
800 grit (ultra fine) for polishing
1500 grit polishing
USAGE: Smoothing high-fired clay, glaze, bisque, tile, stone or glass – Diamond grains work faster than sandpaper – Removing a sharp chipped edge – Fewer strokes and less force are required – Smoothing the base or sides and edge of a ceramic piece
ADVANTAGES: – Can be used wet or dry (does not deteriorate in water) – Square corners to get into tight spaces – Lasts much longer than sandpaper – Much less fatigue than sandpaper – Much easier and faster than other types of sandpaper – Smoothes the base to prevent scratches on the table – Prevents the sharp edge of the base from snagging on the tablecloth
