General instructions for WiziWig Profile Rib

Each WiziWig Profile Rib creates two consistent profiles. The bottom line on each rib is used to compress the clay at the edge of your clay piece, depending on the thickness of your clay.

1. On a potter’s wheel, turn a cylinder with the dimensions and weight listed for your particular WiziWig Rib.

2. With one hand on the inside of the cylinder and the other hand holding your WiziWig Rib on the outside of the cylinder, press your Rib into the cylinder while applying gentle pressure to the outside with your inside hand, giving it the profile shape of your WiziWig Rib.

3. Do this gently until a continuous, smooth line of clay touches your Rib. This should be done several times. Make sure there is enough water between the lomer and the clay.

4. For a nice, round edge, choose an edge size at the bottom of your WiziWig Rib and place it over your edge with gentle pressure.

5. Leave as is or add your own flare!
