Cone 6: Black Timber is a satiny, opaque, mottled brown glaze that breaks over texture. Contains shiny brown crystals. Base color is stable, crystals can create movement.
Cone 10: Color becomes darker metallic, crystals flow more. Light application recommended.
Suitable for tableware
TIPS
1. When opened, the crystals will be concentrated at the bottom of the bottle. Stir/shake thoroughly before each use.
2. Crystals can cause movement. Avoid a high concentration of crystals at the bottom of your piece.
3. If storing a crystal glaze, you can store it upside down to make the crystal more accessible.
4. Can be used in oxidizing or reducing fires. Results may vary.
5. Choice of clay body, thickness of glaze applied, firing process and temperature affect fired results. Always test in the kiln, on the clay body.
